DTG PRINTING PROCESS: In order to ensure that DTG printing is done correctly, a few basic steps must be followed.
-
Direct To Garment printing shirts (DTG) is best used with 100% ringspun cotton. Some blends work well however color bleeding may be noticeable.
-
Pretreatment for DTG printing is essential. This will prevent the ink from washing off and enhance the vibrancy of the colors.
-
After the pre-treatment has dried, place the garment on the DTG printer platen and begin the digital printing.
Note: All garments – except white ones – have a white under base applied first. It’s done to enhance the vibrancy of the final print. Once the under base is printed, the DTG printer adds the rest of the colors. Similar to an inkjet printer, it uses CMYK (a mix of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black).
